HauLens Terms of Service
- HauLens is a work tool for freight brokers. It shows you public FMCSA data and its own reading of it. That reading is information, not a decision. You vet and book carriers under your own judgment and your own compliance duties.
- FMCSA data can be late, incomplete, or wrong. We do not guarantee it, and we are not liable for a booking made or refused because of it.
- Drafted emails become yours when you send them. Mileage figures are estimates. Phone-line checks are not active yet.
- Team members see the loads shared with the team. The person who invites them is responsible for that choice.
- HauLens is in beta and currently free. We may change or stop features. You can delete your account at any time.
1. Agreement
By installing the extension or signing in you agree to these terms on behalf of yourself and, if you use HauLens for a brokerage, on behalf of that business. You must be at least 18 and authorized to accept these terms for that business. If you do not agree, do not use HauLens.

2. What HauLens is
HauLens is a Chrome extension that works inside Gmail. It spots carrier identifiers in the email you are reading, fetches the carrier's public record from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and US Department of Transportation open data, checks the sender's identity against that record, keeps your list of loads, matches carrier emails to those loads, and drafts replies you can edit and send. It is a business tool, not a consumer product.
3. Carrier information and the HauLens review
Everything HauLens tells you about a carrier comes from public government data (FMCSA, US DOT) and from domain-registration records. That data is published by those agencies on their own schedule; it can lag real events by days or weeks, carry errors, or be missing for some carriers. FMCSA's own systems, including SAFER and the Licensing and Insurance system, are the records of authority. When HauLens and FMCSA disagree, FMCSA is right.
The "HauLens review" line and its labels ("No red flags found in the sources checked", "Verify before booking", "Manual review recommended"), the "Not allowed to operate" badge, sender-identity results, domain-age flags, and every other badge are HauLens's automated reading of that data. "No red flags found" means exactly that: nothing adverse in the sources HauLens checked at that moment. It does not mean a carrier is safe, approved, or compliant, and it does not replace your brokerage's own approved-carrier process. They are provided for your information only. They are not legal, financial, or compliance advice, not a statement of fact about any carrier, and not a recommendation to book or refuse anyone. You remain solely responsible for vetting carriers, for complying with the regulations and contracts that apply to your business, and for every booking decision.
4. Drafted replies, estimates, and other outputs
- Reply drafts are suggestions built from your own load data and templates. Once you edit or send one, it is your message.
- Mileage shown as an estimate is calculated from straight-line distance and can differ materially from road miles. Use your own mileage tool for rating.
- Lane matching, offer extraction, and intent detection read email text automatically and can be wrong. Check before you act on them.
- Phone-line (VoIP) checks are not active. Numbers are listed for your reference only.
5. Your account and your team
You sign in with a Google account. Keep that account secure; activity under it is treated as yours. If you create a team, you decide who joins. Everyone in the team can see and edit the loads shared with it, and you are responsible for inviting only people who should see that information. Loads marked private are visible only to their creator.
6. Your data
You own the loads, notes, templates, and other content you put into HauLens. You give us permission to store and process it as needed to run the service, as described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for having the right to enter the data you enter, including other people's email addresses. We do not sell your data and we do not read your email on our servers; the Privacy Policy states exactly what reaches us.
7. Acceptable use
Do not use HauLens to break the law, to harass anyone, or to make decisions the law forbids you to make on this kind of data. Do not scrape, bulk-query, or resell the carrier, domain, or phone lookups; do not work around rate limits; do not probe, overload, or interfere with the service; do not reverse-engineer it beyond what the law allows; and do not let anyone outside your business use your account.
8. Beta, changes, and price
HauLens is in beta. Features may change, break, or be removed, and we may take the service down for maintenance without notice. It is currently free. If we introduce paid plans we will announce them in advance and you will be able to decline and delete your account before anything is charged.
9. Ending the relationship
You can stop at any time by deleting your account from the extension's Account tab, which removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy, or by uninstalling the extension. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, abuses the service, or puts other users at risk, and we will tell you why unless the law prevents it.
10. No warranty
HauLens is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that the service will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted, or fit for a particular purpose.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost loads, lost business, or lost data, arising from your use of HauLens or your reliance on anything it shows you. Our total liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or, if you paid nothing, 100 US dollars. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Your responsibility to us
You will cover us against claims, losses, and reasonable costs that arise from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the service, or the data you enter, including claims by carriers or by people whose information you entered.
13. Third-party services
HauLens relies on Google (sign-in and Gmail, under Google's terms), FMCSA and US DOT data services, domain registries, and Cloudflare. We do not control them, and their availability and terms are theirs.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where we are established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be brought in the courts there. If the law where you are located gives you protections that cannot be waived, those still apply.
15. Changes to these terms
When we change these terms we update the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes are also announced in the extension's release notes. Continuing to use HauLens after a change means you accept it.
